SARAH GALLO

Director/Lead Preschool teacher and Owner of Bright Ideas

Sarah lives in Amherst, NH with her husband and two children.  She holds a degree in Education from Boston University.  Sarah has previously taught preschool and elementary grades in Westwood, MA and Brookline, MA school districts.  She worked in the field of Early Intervention for several years as a developmental specialist with the Lipton Center in Leominster, MA, providing in-home services and assessment for children birth to aged 3.  In pursuit of a role with supervisory and management responsibilities, Sarah assumed the role of Family Support Coordinator and eventually Director of Family Services for Minute Man Arc in Concord, MA.  During her years with Minute Man Arc, she was responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of services in support of families, including an afterschool care program.  Following the birth of her daughter, she began a 10 year career working from home in non-profit administration and program coordination/implementation for children and adults with autism profiles.  Sarah is a former Support Broker with the Arc of Massachusetts and independent consultant assisting families with navigating service delivery systems for individuals with developmental disabilities.  Most recently, she stepped away from her position at AANE (The Asperger Autism Network) of Watertown, MA after moving with her family to Amherst.

HOLLY MAJKUT

Teacher

Holly is currently licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of New Hampshire (LCMHC), A Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts (LMHC) and as a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist through the Art Therapy Credentialing Board. (ATR-BC). She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy. She has been working as an Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor with children (ages 3 and up) and with families over the past 20 years. Her experience includes working in public schools, residential treatment centers, outpatient therapy clinics, in collaboration with state agencies, as well as providing programming for the Amherst Recreation Department. Additionally, she owned and operated a counseling business in Massachusetts for 11 years, providing therapeutic education, in-service trainings, school consultation, parent coaching, and parent/child centered services. She has served as a faculty member at Springfield College in the graduate art therapy program and has provided clinical supervision to therapists in training. Holly relocated to Amherst in 2018 with her husband, daughter age 7 and son age 5. Holly values the use of the arts as a tool to support emotional growth, promote education, socialization, and individual expression. She enjoys cooking, hiking, tennis, gardening, going to the beach and creating art!
